National Body

SLCTVET is a national body established in 2007 with major functions to “establish training priorities, qualifications and accreditation,” and to plan and “co-ordinate TVET at all levels of the educational system” and may “make regulations … for the holding of tests in respect of any specified occupation, and for the granting of a certificate of proficiency”.


The SLCTVET serves as the body which represents the stakeholders in TVET including the Government of St. Lucia, the Ministry of Education and Culture, employers, trade unions, and training institutions and providers.


On June 5th 2013 at the COHSOD meeting held in Guyana where Saint Lucia was granted permission to issue the CVQ. Anyone wishing to obtain CVQ must go through this M.I.S system.
